This work explores the Romans' renowned taste for titillation and fulfilment of the senses, from Persia and Greece to France and Britain. It presents an analysis of the Romans' desire for food and wine and how this quest for the luxurious is woven into the literature, art, and culture.

卜大中：人行道溼滑無比，我去年摔了三次，......心靈受苦從身體宣泄


「老人會自卑，深怕拖累家人與別人，動作又慢，隨時跌倒，這些問題都成了我此生的最新經驗。由於台灣人行道高低不平、障礙物很多，下過雨或水洗地面，人行道溼滑無比，一不留神就會滑倒受傷，我去年摔了三次，固然帕金森造成腿力變衰，但人行道的落後與陷阱，才是老人跌跤的主因。人行道應該用粗糙的材料鋪平，不是大理石那麼滑的材料，如果在歐美，政府及商家（門口鋪滑溜的石材）老早對受傷的行人賠到死。台灣離現代社會還早，歷任市長沒有一個願意剷平人行道，鋪上安全止滑的路面。
近年來，出國旅遊已成為時尚，去趟日本花的錢比在台灣旅遊還便宜，台灣的旅遊業實在丟臉。旅遊是跨越時間與空間的運動，也是與離開家園相關的經驗書寫，其動機是克服空間距離，逃避工作，形成新的快感與經歷。在旅遊過程中有許多能動與不能動的政治經濟學。不能動是指在個人旅遊中，有時會把其他文化作刻板的再現。我們在外國欣賞他們的文化時，往往產生性別、權力、知識、以及認同的型塑過程，因此旅行是和國民的身分、資金、階級有關，特別是到曾是殖民地的國家旅遊，更容易把此刻的建設與過去的殖民遺跡做比較與聯想。旅行因此能強化權力、階級與特權，並刺激出某種自覺。」
市容空間是市民的日常，長期忽視就永遠難以文明進階。旅遊是必要，但得慢慢脫離純觀光，要比較，要效法，這條路上，我們得學習的仍多。

日本：被高齡失智凍結的資產，今日困住家屬、明日動搖國本


【照顧失智的家人，問題會有多複雜？】
高齡化時代對社會的衝擊，如骨牌效應而來，除了介護殺人、詐騙取財等社會案件層出不窮，日本甚至發出警訊，未來因高齡 #失智症 患者被凍結的「#死錢」恐將「#動搖國本」，估計2030年，日本因失智症無法使用的資產達新台幣60兆元之譜，超過家庭金融資產整體1成。
低端老人擔心面臨孤獨死的淒涼境遇；上流老人也可能面對資產被凍結，「有錢，卻用不到」的窘況。
